Happy New Year 2011

Happy New Year to family and friends!

We had an enjoyable New Years Eve with the two office Elders at our apartment. We enjoyed a Disney movie, pizza and cookies. New Year's Day we went to the Hazlewood's and ate more food, goodies, and watch more movies with other missionaries. The missionaries are not allowed out on the streets during this celebration for their protection because too many people are drinking and partying.

We can't believe we will be home this summer. It just seems like we were planning on coming on our mission and soon we'll be planning on sorting through 2 years of accumulation and bringing home our belongings in 4 suitcases.

We received word of a new couple from Montana that will be arriving the end of April to be the new office couple. Although they'll be arriving earlier than we expected we don't think we'll be coming home earlier than our July date. We are grateful we'll have plenty of time to train them and then the last part of our mission we're assuming Joe will still be busy serving as 2nd counselor to the mission president. But, we also hope to plan a little time from duties to see the last few historical sites we haven't seen yet.

St. Petersburg Russia is quite the place to visit. A lot of history. The city is more European in design then Russian. Quite beautiful to walk down the main streets of the city of nearly 5 million and see all the buildings next to each other in the same designs of 300 years ago.

We hope all of you have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's Celebrations.
